Hoshiarpur:- Bharat Vikas Parishad under the leadership of President and prominent social worker Sanjeev Arora celebrated International Yoga Day at Shaheed Udham Singh Park with great enthusiasm, zeal and public participation. In this program, members of the council, women, youth, senior citizens and dignitaries of the city participated in large numbers and practiced yoga. Under the guidance of yoga instructor H. K. Nakra and Madam Vanita, the people present gave the message of healthy life by practicing various yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation.
Addressing the program, President of Bharat Vikas Parishad Sanjeev Arora said that Yoga is a priceless heritage of India's ancient culture, which is being adopted by the whole world today. He said that it is very important to make Yoga an integral part of life for a healthy body, peaceful mind and positive thinking. Mr. Arora said that Bharat Vikas Parishad has decided to adopt Yoga as its permanent project from today.
Under this, regular yoga camps and yoga awareness programs will be organized so that more and more people can join Yoga and adopt a healthy life. Mr. Arora said that this campaign will continue continuously for the coming years. The aim of the Parishad is not just to celebrate Yoga Day for one day, but to contribute to the creation of a healthy India by making every section of the society aware of Yoga. He appealed to all citizens to spend at least 30 minutes for Yoga every day.
On this occasion, Yoga Instructor H. K. Nakra and Madam Vanita said that in today's stressful lifestyle, Yoga is very important for physical and mental health. Regular Yoga practice can prevent many diseases and develops discipline and self-confidence in a person's life. They said that by making Yoga a permanent project by the Parishad, health awareness in the society will get a new direction.
On this occasion, Shri Ashok Chopra, District Sarsangh Chakal of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, said that there is a need to connect the youth especially with Yoga. In the present times, health problems are increasing due to mobile, computer and irregular daily routine. Yoga not only keeps the body healthy, but also increases concentration, positive thinking and performance. He appreciated this decision of the council and said that this initiative will prove beneficial for the coming generations as well.
During the program, all the people present took a pledge to do Yoga every day and spread awareness about Yoga in their families and society. Finally, the office bearers of the council thanked all the participants and expressed their confidence that this permanent Yoga project of Bharat Vikas Parishad will play an important role in making the society healthy, aware and empowered. The Yoga Day function concluded with the National Anthem and the resolution of Tandarust Bharat.
