Chandigarh, October 23 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini reviewed the progress of various projects related to promoting tourism in the state, including the proposed ropeway project on the famous Dhosi Hill in Mahendragarh district. The Chief Minister directed the officials to expedite all pending projects and complete them within the stipulated time.
An important meeting was held here today under the leadership of the Chief Minister regarding the Dhosi Hill Ropeway Project, in which Tourism and Heritage Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma joined online.
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the Haryana government is continuously striving to give global recognition to the tourism places of the state. He said that tourism is not only a source of entertainment, but also a strong source of human development, employment generation and preservation of cultural heritage.
In the meeting, the officials said that the Dhosi Hill Ropeway Project is being developed at a cost of about Rs 57 crore, under which this area will be developed as a reliable tourist destination. The length of the proposed ropeway will be about 870 meters. With the construction of the ropeway, it will be easy to reach Dhosi Hill, which will increase the number of domestic and foreign tourists. This project will not only increase the interest of tourists in the Dhosi area but also in the historical monuments of Mahendragarh.
The meeting also discussed the redevelopment of Mahendragarh Fort, Madhogarh Fort and Bawli. It was suggested that Bawli be developed as a Rani Mahal so that henna and cultural events can be organized there. The Chief Minister, while supporting the proposal, said that this initiative will give a new direction to local employment and tourism development. He suggested developing this project under PPP model (Public-Private Partnership).
Besides, the Chief Minister also reviewed the ongoing tourism projects in Tikartal of Pinjore and Morni and directed to make these areas more attractive and beautiful. He said that along with the beauty of Pinjore Garden, the possibility of accommodation there and new projects like ropeway in the hills of Morni should also be studied.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the under-construction Experience Center in Kurukshetra district and directed the officials to complete the projects in a time-bound manner.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of the Town and Country Planning Department Mr. AK Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Environment Department Mr. Vineet Garg, Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department Mrs. Kala Ramachandran, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Yashpal Yadav, Managing Director of the Tourism Department Dr. Shaleen and other senior officials.
