Chandigarh, March 7:- On the occasion of International Women's Day, women's voluntary blood donation camps will be organized in all districts of Haryana on March 8 as a special initiative dedicated to Nari Shakti. These camps will be organized under the supervision of Haryana State Blood Transfusion Council and Health Department Haryana in all licensed blood centers, district civil hospitals and private blood centers of the state.
Haryana State Blood Transfusion Council Project Director Dr. Mukta Kumar said that participation of women will be ensured in these blood donation camps. Blood donation is considered a great donation and one unit of blood helps in giving a new life to a needy person. This campaign organized on the occasion of Women's Day will give a message of strengthening the spirit of social service and humanity.
He said that this is a first of its kind initiative at the state level, which aims to make women aware of health along with social service. This campaign will be an important step towards strengthening the concept of healthy women-healthy families. Their health will also be checked in these blood donation camps.
Hemoglobin test and general health check-up of women will be done. The hemoglobin level of blood donors should be 12.5 or more. The Health Department appealed to all eligible women to voluntarily participate in blood donation and donate blood and make the life-saving campaign a success.
