Chandigarh, September 7:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that the Haryana Government has launched the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme to economically empower women in the state, and no woman who receives benefits under this scheme or registers for it will be deprived of the benefits of any other government scheme. Earlier, the condition for availing the benefits of this scheme was that the maximum annual family income should be Rs. 1 lakh, which is now being increased to Rs. 1.80 lakh so that more women can benefit from the scheme.
The Chief Minister said that some opposition party leaders are trying to create confusion among women by claiming that if women register for the Lado Lakshmi Scheme, their other benefits such as pensions will be discontinued, but there is no truth in this claim. All women who register for the Lado Lakshmi Scheme or receive benefits under it will continue to receive the benefits of all other schemes as before.
Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that among the 217 commitments made by him before the elections was also a commitment that, immediately after forming the government, financial assistance of Rs. 2,100 per month would be started for women from poor families. After the government was formed, he made a provision of Rs. 5,000 crore for this scheme in the very first budget and started providing Rs. 2,100 to women from families with an annual income of Rs. 1 lakh. At present, an amount of more than Rs. 2,000 crore has been transferred under this scheme into the bank accounts of approximately 10 lakh women in the state. Not only this, the government has provided Rs. 6,500 crore for this scheme in its second budget.
The Chief Minister said that the government has now decided to include women from families with an annual income of Rs. 1.80 lakh in this scheme as well. For this, the registration portal will be opened soon. He appealed to eligible women to register themselves after the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme portal is opened and receive financial assistance of Rs. 2,100 per month.
Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that the objective of this scheme is not only to provide financial support to women but also to make them self-reliant and strengthen their role in the family's economic decision-making process. The increase in the income limit will pave the way for a large number of additional women to join the scheme.
The Chief Minister said that the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme is not merely a scheme providing financial assistance, but is also a means of strengthening the confidence and self-reliance of women in the state. The government's effort is to ensure that women from economically weaker families directly receive the benefits of assistance. A woman's role is important in the economic strength of any family. When a woman has access to financial resources at her own level, her confidence increases and it also has a positive impact on the social and economic development of the family. The Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme advances this very approach. The government's message is clear - when women are empowered, families will be stronger, and when families are stronger, Haryana will become stronger.
