Hansi: – A meeting of activists from the Hansi district unit of the Viklang Adhikar Manch Haryana (Disability Rights Forum) was held at Tikona Park, Hansi, under the chairmanship of Manoj Thakur. Rishikesh Rajli, the State General Secretary of the Viklang Adhikar Manch Haryana, attended the meeting. Prominent attendees included Sunil Majoka (President of the E-Rickshaw Union), Ashok Pali, Sanjay (from Kumhar Wali Dhani), Pappu, Anil Bhatla, Dilbagh Thurana, Suresh Kumar, Ram Bhagat, Balwan, and others.
In a press statement, Manoj Thakur announced that the Hansi City Block conference of the Viklang Adhikar Manch is scheduled to be held on April 11; in preparation for this event, a membership drive will be conducted across the city. During the conference, disabled individuals who have achieved special distinctions or accomplishments will also be felicitated.
General Secretary Rishikesh Rajli stated that a District Committee for the Viklang Adhikar Manch in Hansi district would be constituted shortly. Prior to this, preparations—including membership drives and organizational conferences—are currently in full swing to establish units of the forum across all blocks and villages within the district.
"The Haryana government is arbitrarily discontinuing the pensions of disabled individuals by using their 'Family IDs' as a basis for doing so; this is unjust. This pension constitutes a 'Dignity and Honor Allowance' (Maan Samman Bhatta) and should not be linked to or treated as regular income; the government must immediately cease the practice of cutting off pensions for the disabled," he asserted.
