Asandh/Karnal, December 19. During the proceedings of the second day of the Haryana Legislative Assembly's winter session, Asandh MLA Yogendra Rana presented his views on the theme of "Vande Mataram." He described this declaration as the sacrifice of the resolve of millions of revolutionaries and a symbol of India's collective consciousness.
MLA Yogendra Rana said that when unarmed Indians stood before the guns of the British, they had no shield but the mantra of "Vande Mataram." He said that power is temporary, but the nation is permanent. He described it as the resonance of Bhagat Singh embracing the gallows and the self-respect of Chandrashekhar Azad's last bullet.
The MLA, while explaining terms like "Sujalam" and "Suphalam," described it as a tribute to the land nurtured by the blood of brave mothers and revolutionaries. He concluded his address with the lines, "The slogan that resonates today, from the heavens to the netherworld, 'Vande Mataram' will continue to resound until the end of time."
During the session, MLA Yogendra Rana also prominently raised the issue of the historical heritage of the mound of King Jarasandha, a site of historical significance in Asandh. He highlighted the historical importance of the mound and demanded its preservation and development.
MLA Yogendra Rana proposed the beautification of the site, the construction of a park, and its development as a tourist destination through the Department of Archaeology.
Responding positively, Cabinet Minister Arvind Sharma informed the House that the Archaeological Survey of India has declared it a site of national importance.
He assured the MLA that the government would make every possible effort to preserve the Kushan-era stupas, ancient pottery, and coins found at this historical site, and would also work towards the overall development of the area, developing it as a special tourist destination for visitors.
