Ambala, July 25:- As has happened before, today again Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij reached among the hundreds of Haryana Roadways employees protesting at the main gate of his residence in Shastri Colony, Ambala Cantonment to receive the demand letter, which changed the atmosphere.
Members of the Haryana Roadways Employees United Front, who came from all over the state, were protesting by marching to get their demands accepted and reaching the residence of Minister Anil Vij. During this, Minister Anil Vij personally reached among the protesters to receive the demand letter from the employees and received the demand letter from the union leaders. Anil Vij said that he is listening to them. He does not know how many unions there are in roadways.
He had earlier called all the unions and listened to them. Similarly, he will listen to the protesting employees today too. Minister Anil Vij assured the employees that a meeting would be called within the next 15 days to discuss their demands. On the assurance of Minister Anil Vij, the protesting employees ended their protest.
Earlier, under the leadership of the Sanjha Morcha, roadways employees from different districts of Haryana surrounded the house of Transport Minister Anil Vij over various demands. During the protest, when the officials tried to take the demand letter from the employees, the employees flatly refused and shouted slogans against the minister.
The employees used a microphone to ask Anil Vij to accept the demand letter personally, which gave them a half-hour ultimatum. When the minister did not come, the situation became tense. A clash broke out between the police administration on one side and the angry roadways employees on the other. A fierce struggle ensued between the two sides over the breaking of the barricades.
The angry employees broke the first barricade and tried to remove the second. During this time, there was a heated argument between the police and the protesters. After being explained by the police officers, the employees calmed down and retreated. Seeing the situation, Transport Minister Anil Vij himself came and listened to the roadways employees and took a demand letter from them. It is worth noting that Cabinet Minister Anil Vij has previously also gone among the protesting employees in a similar manner and taken a demand letter from them.
