Chandigarh, November 3 - Haryana Transport Minister Mr. Anil Vij said that to promote environment-friendly local/urban bus service in Ambala, five more new AC electric buses (e-buses) have been added to the local route in Ambala. 10 electric buses are already being operated, now with the receipt of five new electric buses, the total number of buses has increased to 15, which will make the journey environmentally friendly and comfortable.
He said that on the lines of metropolitan cities, steps are being taken to completely convert the local bus service into air-conditioned e-bus service in Ambala. For the convenience of passengers, the work of constructing 23 new modern bus queue shelters on the local bus route in Ambala has also been started. These bus queue shelters will have seating facilities as well as electricity and lighting. It is noteworthy that at present, in view of the increasing demand for public transport, a total of 25 buses are being operated by the Transport Department, which includes 15 electric AC buses.
It is noteworthy that with the efforts of Transport Minister Mr. Anil Vij, the local bus service in Ambala has been restarted after about 25 years. Mr. Vij had started the transport service with 10 mini buses on November 1 last year. After this, 5 electric AC buses were added to the local bus service on January 26 of the same year, on Republic Day.
**Construction of modern bus queue shelters at 23 places for passengers
Transport Minister Anil Vij said that our priority is to ensure that maximum passengers get the benefit of local bus service without any inconvenience. So that passengers do not face any difficulty even in winter, summer and rainy seasons, modern bus queue shelters are being constructed at 23 places in Ambala Cantt by the Nagar Parishad. Apart from seating, the modern queue shelters will be equipped with lights and fans.
