Patiala:- For students, teachers, and citizens, disaster management, civil defense, first aid, and fire safety training and drills are proving to be extremely beneficial in saving precious lives during accidents. This is because 80% of deaths occur due to sudden incidents, fires and smoke from gases, electricity, petroleum, and chemical substances, and the lack of proper, timely assistance on the spot. In such situations, proper methods are not implemented to rescue and save victims from dying or to utilize helpline numbers effectively.
This information was shared by Disaster Management, Civil Defense, First Aid, and Fire Safety Trainer Shri Kaka Ram Varma during a training program organized at the Government College during an NSS camp. He demonstrated various practical methods and taught ways to save precious lives and properties during emergencies. He appealed that every educational institution should provide training to students, teachers, and local area residents, and form 10 types of teams for disaster management, civil defense, first aid, and fire safety to conduct mock drills in preparation for future natural, seasonal, and human-made disasters or wars to assist victims.
Expressing their gratitude, College Principal Smt. Indira Puri and ASI Janak Raj of the Traffic Education Cell stated that 99% of students, teachers, employees, and citizens need to continuously undergo such training, practice, and mock drills by forming teams so that the knowledge of training and practice for saving precious lives and property reaches every household and family.
