Patiala:- On the occasion of National Safety Day, Vardhman Spinning and General Mills, Ludhiana organized a special training program for officials and plant managers of its own and nearby factories under the leadership of Mr. Narendra Pal Singh, Chairman of Punjab State Industrial Safety Council. The program focused on safety, health, disaster management, first aid, fire safety, and maintaining a healthy environment. On this occasion, Factory Head Mr. Vikas Mittal welcomed everyone and said that only those individuals and families will remain healthy, safe, prosperous, and respected who have knowledge of preventing accidents, safety rules, laws, and duties for protecting themselves and others, and who have training and practice in first aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and the use of fire safety cylinders during emergencies. For this reason, such awareness programs are organized several times a year.
Mr. Narendra Pal Singh stated that, at a war level, training sessions, medical checkups, and mock drills are being conducted to reduce accidents in factories and to keep workers and their family members safe, healthy, and prosperous.
On this occasion, Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, Chief Trainer, First Aid, Safety, Health Awareness Mission, Patiala, informed that due to 9 types of sudden accidents, 80% of deaths occur because proper first aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation are not provided on time. Through various practical demonstrations, he trained participants on what should be done to protect oneself and save the lives of victims in situations such as injuries, unconsciousness, heart attacks, epilepsy attacks, cardiac arrest, diabetes, high or low blood pressure, head injuries, internal or external bleeding, fire, gas, and electrical incidents. He also provided information about Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, recovery or ventilator position, cyber safety, and helpline numbers.
Mr. Sanjeev Vohra, Safety Officer, shared information about the importance of behavior, politeness, patience, discipline, etiquette, and fire safety. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, an officer from Punjab Industrial Safety Council, Chandigarh, and the factory’s Chief Manager and Head of Human Resources, Deepika Sukhija, stated that according to government guidelines, such training programs are conducted to make employees healthy, fit, safe, prosperous, and helpful angels for victims.
Certificates were distributed to the trainees, and they were pledged that they would always honestly follow the rules, laws, principles, and duties related to health, safety, protection, assistance, and brotherhood at workplaces, roads, and in their homes and families.
