Chandigarh, November 2 - Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the progressive ideas of Arya Samaj need to be taken to every village and street with the same resolve, devotion and sacrifice so that India can regain its ancient pride of spiritual guru.
The Chief Minister was addressing the International Arya Maha Samagam 2025 held in Delhi on Sunday. On this occasion, he released the Arya Samaj Memorial, which contains the golden chapters of 150 years of Arya Samaj. The Chief Minister also announced to give Rs 51 lakh to the organization from his discretionary fund. Gujarat and Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat were also present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister said that if India is to be re-established as a world guru, then we will have to follow the teachings of Maharishi Dayanand Ji. He said that the importance of the Gurukul education system has increased even more than before. In the Gurukul system, special emphasis is given to the character building and development of moral qualities of the people. Simplicity and high thoughts are its basis.
The Chief Minister said that the Arya Samaj was established in 1875 with the aim of keeping the rays of the sun, the thoughts of Maharishi Dayanand, illuminating the entire world. Arya Samaj is an organization that has done wonderful work for religion, society and the nation. By creating awareness among the people of Arya Samaj, they have prepared them to protect the country and religion. Apart from this, it also played a noteworthy role in ending casteism, the right to education for all, women's education, widow marriage, ending untouchability, cow protection etc.
The Chief Minister said that Maharishi Dayanand was the first to light the torch of Swaraj and made the citizens aware of freedom. This was the reason why the freedom movement gained momentum in every corner of the country. The Chief Minister said that Arya Samaj had a deep imprint on the lives of young revolutionaries like Amar Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra and Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. Therefore, he emphasized on paying more attention to areas like education, religious reform, social reform. He is also called the founder of social consciousness. The Chief Minister said that the Gurukul of Arya Samaj has a great contribution in making the youth patriotic, dutiful and cultured. The path that Arya Samaj has shown to study the Vedas and adopt their values ??has led to social, cultural and spiritual progress of the society. Yoga is also taught to students in our Gurukuls.
The Chief Minister said that Yoga is not just a physical exercise but also has an important contribution in mental and spiritual development. He said that with the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the United Nations decided to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 every year. This has given new respect to this invaluable heritage of India in the world. The Haryana Government is establishing Yoga and Vyamshalas.
The Chief Minister said that Maharishi Dayanand had advocated women's education the most. Aryas like Swami Dayanand, Swami Shraddhanand and other great Acharyas made a great contribution in taking the Gurukul tradition forward. Even today, lakhs of daughters and sons are getting education in Arya institutions.
Shri Naib Singh said that in the Vedas it is said that there is no intellect without Vedas, there is no movement without cow. Cow has been worshipped in Indian culture since ancient times. The government is continuously working for the protection and promotion of the cow breed in the state. Mr. Naib Singh said that new steps are being taken continuously to make education in Haryana employment-oriented. Apart from this, cleanliness and yoga have been made a part of moral education. The Chief Minister appealed to the people present to join the Gurukul education system and play their role in the development of the country and the state.
