Fatehabad, February 11: The ongoing state-level 30-day Surya Namaskar campaign in the district is now taking the form of a mass movement. Under the joint aegis of the Haryana Government, the Haryana Yoga Commission, and the AYUSH Department, Surya Namaskar programs were organized in the government secondary schools of villages Bharpur, Hansga, Bhundwas, and MP Sotar. Students performed the 12-step Surya Namaskar together on the school campuses, presenting a wonderful spectacle of yoga.
Under the direction of District Ayurvedic Officer Dr. Praveen Sharma and District Yoga Coordinator Dr. Bharti Chauhan, and under the guidance of Ayurvedic Medical Officer Dr. Vishwajeet Jangra, AYUSH Yoga Assistant Satbir Singh provided the students with detailed training. He also informed the children about the correct technique of Surya Namaskar, breathing procedures, and precautions during practice.
Satbir Singh stated that Surya Namaskar is not just a physical exercise, but a science of a holistic lifestyle. This practice, consisting of 12 sequential asanas, activates every organ and gland in the body. Regularly performing 10-15 rounds improves blood circulation, strengthens muscles, and increases spinal flexibility.
This practice also helps balance metabolism, aids weight control, improves digestion, and boosts immunity. During the program, AYUSH Yoga Assistant Anil Kumar led the students and teachers in taking a pledge for a "Yoga-filled, drug-free India."
He stated that if young people incorporate yoga and pranayama into their daily routine for at least 20 minutes, it will not only improve their personal health but also bring about positive changes in society. The school administration announced that Surya Namaskar would be included in the regular prayer assembly, stating that schools lay the foundation for a healthy, aware, and disciplined society.
