Hoshiarpur: The Income Tax Department raid at our house, which began on Wednesday morning, January 28, concluded late last night. During the raid, my family fully cooperated with the raiding team. No major irregularities were found. In the future, if needed, we will cooperate with the department. We are law-abiding citizens. I have cooperated with investigating agencies in the past as well.
Our family, including my son, is not a partner with any builder in Chandigarh. My son has a partnership in a colony in S.A.S. Nagar. All the necessary documents related to the partnership have been handed over to the investigating agency.
I want to tell the people of the state, especially the people of the Hoshiarpur assembly constituency, that my journey started with great difficulty, from working in a small roadside eatery and owning a wool shop. Born into a poor family, I had to choose between books and bread, but I never ignored my dreams.
I have seen the struggles of common people and therefore entered politics to serve the people from a larger platform. As you all know, I was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly twice, and in my 10-year tenure, I tried to serve with full dedication and humility.
But, leaders, especially those who are repeatedly rejected by the public in elections, always try to tarnish my image by raising baseless issues. The pain of being targeted unnecessarily is truly immense. My well-wishers know that the Honorable Lokpal Punjab has already dismissed the petition filed against me regarding the allotment of plots, etc.
Furthermore, the Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court has already quashed the FIR registered against the officers, employees, and me. However, I would not like to comment on the allegations of offering money to an officer of an investigating agency as the matter is sub judice in the Honorable Court. The Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court is aware of this matter and has stayed the proceedings. I am being targeted out of political vendetta. Politics is a platform to serve society, not a means for settling personal scores. I admit I made a mistake by joining the BJP along with other leaders, but I rejoined the Congress and rectified my mistake. I apologized to the people of Hoshiarpur and Punjab, and they forgave me, even though the Congress was not in power at the center or in the state at that time. I have faith in the people and the future political history of Hoshiarpur. I hope they will see the truth and deliver justice.
They always try to tarnish my image by raising baseless issues Sundar Sham Arora
