Chandigarh, November 29 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the sisters of the state have earned a name across the country with their hard work and skills. This is the identity of a self-reliant India, there is skill in every home and work for every right. Today, thousands of self-help groups of Haryana have become the strongest pillars of a self-reliant India.
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini was addressing women at a self-reliant group conference in Panchkula on Saturday.
He said that self-reliant groups are the ambassadors of India. They are the real face of a self-reliant India. When a village woman takes up a sewing machine or a young girl starts dairy or handicraft work, she not only becomes the livelihood of her family, she creates the future of the society.
Self-reliant groups are participating well in areas ranging from organic agriculture and digital services to small industries
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the state government has empowered more than 65 thousand self-reliant groups till now. In this, lakhs of women members are creating respect and identity in the society with their hard work. The support groups have been provided with full facilities of bank loans, training and branding so that they can become self-reliant not only in production but also in sales. Along with this, they are also participating well in areas ranging from organic agriculture and digital services to small industries. Our sisters are now also moving forward in areas like digital payment, e-commerce and online marketing.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised the work of self-help groups in the state
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also praised the work of self-help groups. He mentioned the handicraft industry of Rohtak district in the Mann Ki Baat program on 28 July 2024. More than 250 women of our Rohtak district do block printing and dyeing work. Similarly, Pooja Sharma, a resident of village Chandu in Gurugram, was honored with the Nari Shakti Puraskar by the President of the country on the occasion of International Women's Day-2022.
Promoting One Block-One Product under the Padma scheme to give recognition to products
He said that the sisters are promoting indigenous products through animal husbandry, gardening, fish farming, beauty parlors, grocery shops, canteens etc. In every region, some product has its own identity. To make such products known at the national and international level, One Block-One Product is being promoted under the Padma scheme.
The upper limit of investment in small scale industries has been increased
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the upper limit of investment in small scale industries has been increased from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 1 crore. Similarly, the upper limit of investment in small scale industrial units has been increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore and in medium scale units from Rs 10 crore to Rs 50 crore.
Several incentives given to self-help groups for self-employment
The Chief Minister said that the government has given several incentives to self-help groups for self-employment. So far, about Rs 548 crore has been given various types of financial assistance. The government has increased the amount of revolving fund from Rs 10 thousand to Rs 20 thousand. Stamp duty exemption has also been given to women self-help groups on taking loans up to Rs 5 lakh.
Our government is continuously working to empower women
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that our government is continuously working to empower women. Our government has fulfilled what it has said. The government has already made a budget provision of Rs 5 thousand crore for Lado Laxmi Yojana in the first budget. Registration is going on continuously in this scheme, of which we have also released the first installment. The second installment will also be released soon. Gas cylinders have been given to sisters whose families' income is less than Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand.
On this occasion, a large number of self-help groups including BJP State President Mr. Mohan Lal Badoli, MLA Mrs. Shakti Rani Sharma were present.
