Hoshiarpur:- On the occasion of International Women's Day, Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Mandeep Kamal gave a message to the district residents and said that women are the strong foundation of society and are making significant contributions in every field with their ability, hard work and dedication. He said that in today's time, women are playing an important role in every field including education, health, science, administration, sports and social service, which is very important for the progress of society.
Dr. Mandeep Kamal said that International Women's Day gives us an opportunity to spread awareness about the rights, respect and health of women. He said that the Health Department is running many important schemes and health programs keeping in mind the health of women, such as mother and child health services, regular check-ups of pregnant women, vaccination, nutritional counseling and cancer screening etc. He said that the main objective of these schemes is to provide a healthy life to women and protect them from diseases.
He said that it is very important for women to be aware of their health and should get health check-ups done from time to time. He especially motivated pregnant women to get themselves registered in government health institutions and get check-ups and vaccinations done as per medical advice. Dr. Mandeep Kamal said that every section of the society should work together to ensure respect, safety and equal rights of women.
He said that only when women are healthy, educated and empowered, then the progress of the society and the country is possible. Finally, on the occasion of International Women's Day, he appealed to the district residents to spread awareness for the health and welfare of women and to provide them equal opportunities and respect in the society.
