Karnal, May 26: An orientation session for 159 newly appointed Patwaris was organized today at the auditorium of the local Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma attended the program as the Chief Guest. During the event, he congratulated the newly appointed Patwaris and encouraged them to work with honesty and dedication in the field.
While addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner shared a personal anecdote, noting that in rural areas, people understand the significance of a Patwari far more than that of a Deputy Commissioner (DC). He stated that Patwaris serve as the backbone of the Revenue Department. For villagers, the Patwari fulfills the role of the government's most accessible and immediate representative. Expressing his delight, he remarked that while the post of Patwari was historically considered a male-dominated domain, the fact that a large number of women and young women are being selected for this position today is a matter of pride for both society and the government.
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that they have been recruited solely on the strength of their own merit and through a transparent process. He urged them to uphold this trust and to never compromise their professional integrity by succumbing to greed or temptation. He added that if their character and work ethic remain impartial, they will command respect everywhere within society. The Deputy Commissioner further assured the newly appointed Patwaris that they could contact his office directly regarding any issues or difficulties they might face.
On this occasion, ADC Dr. Rahul Raiya congratulated all the newly appointed Patwaris and urged them to perform their duties with honesty and dedication. He stated that resolving the issues faced by the general public—particularly farmers and villagers—should be their top priority. He noted that as the government moves towards digitization and the Revenue Department rapidly embraces digital transformation to keep pace with changing times, it has become imperative for all Patwaris to be technically proficient. He called upon all Patwaris to work with the specific objective of ensuring that the benefits of the services provided by the department reach the public effectively. On this occasion, ACUT Soham Shailendra and DRO Manish Yadav congratulated all the newly appointed Patwaris and wished them a bright future. Prior to this, as part of the orientation program, the newly appointed Patwaris were familiarized with their duties by the Naib Tehsildar and Kanungo. Furthermore, they were instructed on how to ensure that the benefits of government-run schemes reach the general public.
Present on this occasion were ADC Dr. Rahul Raiya, ACUT Soham Shailendra, DRO Manish Yadav, and Naib Tehsildar Rajesh Kumar, along with officials from the Revenue Department and the newly appointed Patwaris.
