Haryana/Panchkula: The Haryana State Election Commission has announced elections for the Panchkula Municipal Corporation, as well as for other municipal corporations and municipalities. In this context, a crucial meeting of senior JJP office bearers from Panchkula was held at the residence of Kiran Punia—the State In-charge of the party's Women's Wing—in Sector 17, Panchkula.
Participants in this meeting included JJP Panchkula District President O.P. Sihag, State In-charge of the Women's Wing Dr. Kiran Punia, Party State Vice President K.C. Bhardwaj, District Office Secretary Surinder Chadda, Panchkula Constituency President Rajesh Nishad, District Spokesperson Suresh Pathak, and Panchkula Constituency President of the Women's Wing, Babita Punia.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the party contesting the elections for the posts of Mayor and Councilors in the Panchkula Municipal Corporation, as announced by the Haryana Election Commission. The consensus among all party leaders present was that the party should indeed contest these elections; furthermore, there was unanimous agreement that District President O.P. Sihag should be fielded in the electoral battle for the post of Mayor.
Additionally, discussions were held regarding the fielding of candidates for various wards. Ultimately, all office bearers participating in the meeting resolved that future actions would be guided strictly by whatever final decision is taken by the party's High Command regarding contesting the elections for the Panchkula Municipal Corporation.
