Una, October 14 – Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the foundation of a healthy society rests on a balanced and nutritious diet. Every person should be mindful of their eating habits to ensure equal physical and mental development. He said that work is underway with the goal of making Una district a model of a healthy society.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the Nutrition Month program held at the Government Senior Secondary School, Rampur, on Tuesday. This program was organized by the District Rural Development Agency under the Himachal Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, in collaboration with the Women and Child Development Department and the Government College, Una.
The Deputy Commissioner said that both good education and excellent health are essential for a child's success. He said that junk food can be detrimental to children's health, so they should develop the habit of adopting a traditional and nutritious diet. He said that our body is a temple, and caring for it is our greatest responsibility.
The Deputy Commissioner praised the efforts of doctors, Anganwadi workers, and self-help groups working in the district, noting their remarkable contribution in spreading nutrition awareness.
On this occasion, District Development Officer Ramanveer Chauhan presented the program outline, while District Program Manager Jyoti Sharma shared detailed information on the importance of a nutritious diet.

**Children showcased their talent in competitions:
During the program, speech, poetry recitation, painting, and rangoli competitions were held.

1. Farhan won first place in the speech competition, Maheshwar Dhiman second, and Prakash third.
2. Sanjana won first place in the poetry recitation competition, Radhika second, and Krishak third.
3. Pravesh, Nitin, and Sunil won first, second, and third places respectively in the painting competition.
4. Krishna, Manisha, and Tania won first, second, and third places respectively in the rangoli competition (Primary Wing). In the middle wing, Laung Shri and Aditya won first, Kashish and Gaurav second, and Abhijeet third.

**At the end of the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner honored all the winners and administered an oath on the importance of a nutritious diet.
CDPO Shiv Kumar, Rampur School Principal Surendra Kundal, Professors Rashpal and Aarushi Sharma of Una College, Head Teacher of Government Secondary School Rampur Savita Devi, Virendra Kumar, along with DRDA officials and employees were present at the event.
