Chandigarh: Punjab BJP Vice President Dr. Subhash Sharma today said that the Modi government has given a big gift to Punjab. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav visited the Mohali's semiconductor lab and announced Rs 4500 crore for the modernization and expansion of the lab. 
He also announced that this lab will not be privatized under any circumstances. This lab will always remain under the government and the government will expand it further so that India becomes the number-one country in the world in the field of semiconductors.
Punjab BJP has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for these important announcements. While this lab will benefit the country, Punjab, especially Mohali, will also benefit economically and new employment opportunities will be created.
Dr. Subhash Sharma demanded from the Punjab government that SEL should be provided with the required 25 acres of land for the expansion of this lab so that it can be expanded and modernized on a larger scale with the funds of the Central Government.
