Chandigarh: The Thalassemic Charitable Trust (TCT), in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, and the Indian Red Cross Society (UT Chandigarh), successfully organized its 325th blood donation camp at PGIMER on Saturday.
The camp was dedicated to children suffering from thalassemia and other critically ill patients who require regular blood transfusions to survive. A total of 103 units of blood were collected during the camp. A 'Thalassemia Awareness Desk' was also set up to raise awareness about the disease.
Dr. Suchet Sachdev and Dr. Sangeeta Pachar honored the blood donors with certificates and badges. Prof. (Dr.) R.R. Sharma, Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, and Mr. Rajinder Kalra, Member Secretary of the Trust, expressed their gratitude to the blood donors and appealed to the public to come forward for this noble cause.
The next camp of the Trust will be organised on 22nd February at PGI and on 23rd February at TC Spinners Pvt Ltd, Laldu.
