Karnal, July 6: Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, formally inaugurated the newly constructed Swami Dayanand Saraswati Chowk near the Sector 12-13 traffic light in Karnal city on Monday. During the event, he offered oblations in the *Havan Yajna* and paid his respects to Swami Dayanand Saraswati. Addressing local citizens and dignitaries on the occasion, the Union Minister stated that memorials dedicated to great figures play a pivotal role in guiding society in the right direction and inspiring the new generation.
The Union Minister remarked that Swami Dayanand Saraswati led his life by choosing a pure and ideal path aimed at instilling noble values within society. His life and work serve as an exemplary model for the entire nation. He highlighted that although Swami Ji was born in one corner of the country, he traveled extensively to propagate the principles of the Arya Samaj and undertook the noble task of liberating society from social evils and propelling it forward. He expressed happiness that local residents have preserved the memory of such great figures through this unique initiative. He emphasized that taking such steps is crucial to ensure that today's new generation can also follow the path shown by these great personalities.
The Union Minister also commended those members of society who are continuously contributing to societal betterment through education, *Yajna*, scriptural study, and the propagation of social principles. While paying homage to Swami Dayanand Ji, he encouraged society to move forward by adhering to his principles. He urged that Swami Ji's teachings be taken to the masses so that our youth can also advance on the path of serving the nation and society. Dignitaries present on the occasion included Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, BJP District President Praveen Lathar, MP representative Kavindra Rana, BJP leader Brij Gupta, and Advocate Vijay Vedpal.
