Kharar/Boothgarh, January 9:- A TB screening camp was held in village Tida under Primary Health Center Boothgarh. Dr. Alkjot Kaur, Senior Medical Officer of the hospital, said that under the tuberculosis-free campaign, the health team of the hospital organized a screening camp in the village. She said that chest X-rays were done on the spot with a screening machine. A total of 195 X-rays and 72 CYTB tests were done.
Dr. Alkjot Kaur said that under this campaign, screening camps are being organized in different villages and X-rays are done on the spot. She said that other necessary tests are done on the persons who are found to have symptoms of TB. When the TB specialist doctor confirms that they have tuberculosis, free treatment with medicine is started.
He said that this is a good initiative of the government under the TB-free campaign because now people do not have to go to a government institution to get an X-ray. During the camps, the health team itself reaches them with the machine. He appealed to the people of the villages to take advantage of these camps.
He also informed that under the program 'Nikshay Mitra' started by the Government of India with the aim of eradicating TB, any private person, elected representative, employee of a government or non-government organization, any organization, corporation or company can adopt any TB patient of the district, under which they will provide food and drink items like pulses, grains, oil, milk etc. to the patients at their own expense for 6 months.
Any interested person or institution can log in to www.nikshay.in and register on the Nikshay Mitra registration form. TB patients can be selected on this portal as per their convenience. For any information in this regard or to fill the registration form, the TB officer of the District Health Department can be contacted on mobile phone number 79730 24849.
