Ratia, February 4:- Under the joint auspices of the College Yoga Cell, the AYUSH Department, and the Haryana Yoga Commission, a special Surya Namaskar program was organized at Shaheed Davinder Singh Government Post Graduate Women's College, Ratia, as part of the Surya Namaskar campaign being run in the district to spread yoga to every person and promote a healthy lifestyle.  Students and teachers of the college actively participated in the program and practiced yoga.
Yoga assistant Pooja Kataria guided the participants through various yoga exercises.  The yoga practice included Surya Namaskar, Kapalbhati Kriya, Anulom Vilom, Bhramari Pranayama, and meditation. Yoga experts informed the students about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga and encouraged them to make regular yoga an integral part of their lives. Addressing the students, Yoga assistant Pooja said that the Surya Namaskar campaign is being taken to every village in the district, and schools, colleges, universities, and Anganwadi centers are being connected to this campaign. She said that yoga not only keeps the body healthy but also relieves mental stress and infuses positive energy into life. Young people should stay away from addiction, stress, and an unbalanced lifestyle by adopting yoga. College Public Relations Officer Prof. Surendra Sharma said that Principal Paramjit Sandha, in his address, expressed gratitude to the AYUSH Department and the Yoga Commission and said that initiatives like the Surya Namaskar campaign are the need of the hour. This is increasing health awareness among students, and they are becoming physically and mentally strong. He said that only healthy students can build a healthy society and nation. The Principal requested that similar yoga camps and awareness programs be organized in the college in the future as well.
On this occasion, the in-charge of the College Yoga Cell, Dr. Seema, said in her address that yoga is a priceless heritage of Indian culture, by adopting which we can protect ourselves from many diseases. She appealed to the students not to limit yoga to just one program but to make it a part of their daily routine. Include this in your routine. It increases concentration, memory, and self-confidence.
At the end of the program, the yoga team of the Ayush Department was thanked. All the college staff and students were present on this occasion.
