Ludhiana: On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, Sun Foundation will organize a grand convocation and appointment letter distribution ceremony on July 16, 2026, at the Skill Centre of Excellence campus, ITI Gill Road, Ludhiana. At this event, 1,000 youths trained at Sun Foundation’s skill centres across Punjab will be awarded NSDC diploma certificates and appointment letters from leading national companies.
The Chief Guest for the event will be the Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, while the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, will preside over the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Padma Shri Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahni, Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman of Sun Foundation, said:
"Skill development is the most powerful medium for employment, dignity, and nation-building. Our objective is to equip every young person with skills that lead them towards dignified employment, self-confidence, and a self-reliant life."
He further added: "On World Youth Skills Day, we reiterate our resolve to provide free, industry-aligned skill training and employment opportunities to every eligible youth in Punjab. Our goal is not merely to secure jobs but to transform the youth into skilled professionals and active participants in India's development."
The ceremony will feature live skill demonstrations, interactions with trainees, exhibitions showcasing various skills, presentations on skill development projects, and a tour of the newly constructed ITI campus.
This event marks a significant milestone in taking Sun Foundation’s commitment to skill development, employment generation, and the creation of a self-reliant youth force in Punjab to new heights.
