Karnal, July 25: Parag Gaba, President of the District Congress Committee (Urban), Karnal, stated that the "Chhatron Ki Goonj" (Echo of Students) campaign launched by the Congress nationwide, combined with the relentless efforts of Leader of the Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi, compelled the central government to bow down. The resignation of the Education Minister serves as proof that when students unite and their cause receives strong leadership, those in power are forced to respond.
He noted that Rahul Gandhi amplified the voices of students across the country by launching the "Chhatron Ki Goonj" campaign from Kota on July 17. The campaign subsequently spread to various states, including Dehradun, raising national-level concerns regarding paper leaks, the dilapidated state of the education system, unemployment, and issues affecting the future of the youth.
Parag Gaba stated that when students' voices went unheard in Parliament and the government avoided dialogue, Rahul Gandhi, along with fellow MPs, marched towards the Prime Minister's residence to highlight the students' demands. Despite facing detention alongside other MPs during this peaceful, democratic protest, he refused to back down from the fight for students' rights.
He remarked that while the Education Minister's resignation marks the first major victory of this movement, the struggle is far from over. Rahul Gandhi will now continue the fight with even greater resolve for youth employment, transparent recruitment processes, strict action against paper leaks, and an improved education system. The BJP government will be held accountable for every question concerning the future of the youth.
Parag Gaba emphasized that the nation's youth must understand that in a democracy, it is a strong opposition that conveys the public's voice to those in power. If students, the youth, and the general public stand united in truth, every democratic battle against authoritarianism and anti-people policies can be fought vigorously, ensuring the protection of the people's rights.
He concluded by saying that this is not merely about a minister's resignation; it represents a major success for youth unity, the democratic struggle, and Rahul Gandhi's leadership. The Congress will continue to fight for the rights of students and the youth with full vigor.
