Nawanshahr:- Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Drug Victims Nawanshahr organized an anti-drug awareness camp under the "Drug-Free India Campaign" at Government Middle School Dariyapur (Nawanshahr). This camp was presided over by Shri Parikshit Gandhi (School Incharge). On this occasion, Chaman Singh (Project Director) while addressing the students said that today youth is being wasted due to drugs.
Every day, four to five youth of Punjab lose their lives. He gave detailed information to the students about the ill effects of drugs and also shared tips on staying away from it.
He told the students that children start using drugs under the influence of their elders in ignorance, which later becomes very difficult to leave. Students should believe in working hard to reach their destination and not adopt any wrong path.
He said that students have to face many problems by going to colleges and universities for their good future. To stay away from drugs, we should read the biographies of our gurus, martyrs, warriors, then we will know about their struggle. With this we can stay away from bad habits.
On this occasion, Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Counselor) also shared detailed information about the treatment of patients at the center that any drug addict can get free treatment by staying in the center for a month as per his wish, because addiction cannot be left at home, to leave addiction it is necessary to approach psychiatrists and drug rehabilitation centers.
On this occasion, Shri Parikshit Gandhi (School Incharge) made the students aware of drugs and thanked the Red Cross team and said that we should implement the information given by the center in our lives so that we remain aware of social evils like drugs.
On this occasion, all the staff and students took a pledge to make Punjab/country drug free. On this occasion, Paridha Walia (Teacher), Parvesh Kumar, Ranjit Kaur (Aanganwadi Worker), Saroj Rani, Nirmal Singh, Pyara Lal, Surjit Kaur, Rohit, other villagers and students were present.
