Chandigarh, June 4:- Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao said that the state government is continuously taking steps to provide ultra-modern facilities to government hospitals of the state. Under this link, giving a major boost to the public health infrastructure of Haryana, Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini has given formal approval to start ultra-modern PAT and SPECT facilities in Ambala Civil Hospital (Civil Hospital).
This major step of the state government is a milestone in the direction of strengthening the public health sector. After this upgradation, government hospitals will also be able to provide high-level diagnostic services on the lines of super-specialty private hospitals.
The introduction of this nuclear medicine facility will directly benefit serious patients admitted to the hospital, especially those suffering from cancer, neurological and heart diseases. Advanced technologies like PET and SPECT accurately map the internal cell activities and blood flow of the body, which helps doctors detect tumors and other serious defects at very early stages. Its launch will enable critical patients to get immediate and proper treatment in an emergency situation.
Earlier, patients from Ambala and its surrounding areas had to depend on expensive private diagnostic centers for these specialized scans or had to travel to large institutions like PGI, Chandigarh. With this decision, this gap will now be completely bridged and affordable and world-class testing facilities will be available under one roof. This will significantly reduce the financial burden on local families and timely treatment will save the lives of patients.
This approval is part of the Haryana government’s comprehensive strategy to equip district-level hospitals with modern medical technology. By upgrading regional centers like Ambala Civil Hospital, the state government aims to decentralize specialized health services. This will not only reduce the pressure of patients on large referral hospitals, but will also lead to a major improvement in the survival and early recovery rate of patients suffering from serious illnesses in North Haryana.
