Chandigarh, August 19:– The Haryana government is continuously striving to provide better health facilities to the government employees, pensioners and their dependents of the state. In this context, the state Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao said that the benefits of the 'AYUSH Medical Reimbursement Policy' implemented in May 2023 are now reaching the beneficiaries directly. Under this policy, if an eligible person gets his treatment through traditional and natural medical systems, then the medical expenses incurred by him are being reimbursed by the state government.
She said that the main objective of this policy is to promote traditional medical systems along with allopathy and provide more healthcare options to the employees. Under this, treatment done through systems like Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) is fully covered. With this initiative, the government is getting great relief to the patients in the treatment of chronic diseases, where people want to give preference to traditional and natural treatment instead of allopathy.
The Health Minister further informed in detail that special attention is being paid to the effective implementation of the AYUSH policy and the empanelment of hospitals to provide quality facilities to the patients. Under the AYUSH Medical Reimbursement Policy, 18 private and specialist hospitals have been empanelled by the AYUSH department so far. In these empanelled hospitals, patients can freely get treatment from AYUSH modalities and later claim their expenses as per the rules of the policy.
The state government aims to further strengthen this network in the coming times so that employees and pensioners living in remote areas can also get the benefit of nearby AYUSH centers. The Health Department believes that this policy is not only strengthening traditional Indian medical practices, but has also significantly reduced the sudden medical financial burden on millions of families associated with government service.
