Chandigarh, November 10 - Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the state government is fully committed to making Gurugram a traffic-free and easy-to-use city. He said that a permanent solution to the traffic problem is the priority of the government and steps are being taken for this in a planned manner. The Chief Minister was presiding over the 15th meeting of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Monday, in which the progress of various development works and infrastructure projects of the city was reviewed.
Union Minister of State and local MP Rao Inderjit Singh, Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh and Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Khullar were present in this important meeting held at the PWD Rest House. Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma, Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary, Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwar, GMDA Principal Advisor DS Dhesi, Town and Country Planning and Urban Estate Department ACS AK Singh, Power Department Principal Secretary Shyamal Mishra were present at the meeting venue.
Giving instructions to the officials in the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the pace of ongoing works should be increased to speed up development in Gurugram so that facilities can be made available to the people in a time-bound manner. The Chief Minister also reviewed the decisions taken in the previous GMDA meeting during this time.

**There will be relief from traffic jams at Millennium City Metro Station
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that people will soon get relief from the problem of traffic jams in the Millennium City Metro Station area. For this, an underpass will be constructed to ensure smooth traffic flow towards Sectors 27, 29, 43 and 44. The Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of this project soon.
He said that this underpass will not only reduce traffic pressure in the areas near the metro station, but will also simplify traffic on the roads adjacent to the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway. This project will provide great relief to local residents, office goers and passengers and will help in making the traffic network of the city stronger.

**Shri Sheetla Mata Medical College to be run on PPP mode, construction work of Civil Hospital to begin soon
During the meeting, development projects related to the health sector in Gurugram district were also discussed in detail. Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini took information from the officials of the concerned department on the progress of operation of Shri Sheetla Mata Medical College and construction of the proposed Civil Hospital in the city.
In the meeting, it was decided that a high-level committee would be constituted for the operation of Shri Sheetla Mata Medical College, which would work on the possibilities of operating this institution on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
The Chief Minister said that strengthening quality health services and modern medical infrastructure in the state is among the top priorities of the government. He directed the officials to complete these projects at the earliest so that better health facilities are available to the common citizens.
The Chief Minister said that the construction work of the civil hospital to be built in the city should also be implemented at the ground level as soon as possible. He also directed to implement the suggestions given by Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh and Haryana Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh in the design of the Civil Hospital on priority.

**The Corporation's large sewerage line will be transferred to GMDA
During the meeting, Municipal Corporation Gurugram Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya presented a major proposal. He said that the maintenance of sewerage and drain lines of more than 600 mm size laid on the Master Road under GMDA is currently being done by the Corporation, while its transfer to GMDA is necessary.
The Corporation Commissioner said that with the management of these large sewerage lines and drains under GMDA under integrated systems, the city's water drainage system and seepage network will be more effective and efficient.
Presenting a detailed report in this context, he said that transferring the network of lines and drains of more than 900 mm size from bus stand to CRPF Chowk, Sector 4 to Laxman Vihar Dividing Road, Old Delhi Road, Jyoti Park, Sector 4/7 to MPS and Basai Road to GMDA will bring about a significant improvement in the operational capacity of the city's infrastructure. The Chief Minister, while giving importance to this proposal, directed the Principal Advisor to ensure that this work is completed at the earliest.

**Directions given to prepare DPR for new drain from Gurugram to Palwal via Nuh
The meeting also held serious discussions on the plan for a new drain from Gurugram to Palwal via Nuh. Officials said that the construction of this drain will reduce the pressure on the Najafgarh drain and will create a permanent system for rainwater development. The Chief Minister, describing this project as being related to the future needs of Gurugram, directed to take it forward on priority.
He said that the construction of the Ganvi drain will not only provide a permanent solution to the problem of waterlogging but will also prove to be a visionary initiative from the point of view of water conservation and management in the area. The Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to prepare the DPR soon and said that the suggestions of Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh and Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh should also be included in it, so that the project is practical and comprehensive from every point of view.

**Construction of Wazirabad Sports Stadium to be completed on time
During the meeting, Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh inquired about the progress of the sports stadium being built in Wazirabad. On this, Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya informed that the construction work of the stadium is going on at a fast pace and all necessary steps are being taken to complete it within the stipulated time.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Gurugram is the center of economic progress of the state and every development project started here is linked to the growth of the entire Haryana. He gave clear instructions to the officials to complete all the ongoing works in a time-bound manner so that the citizens can get facilities at the earliest. The Chief Minister said that the government's objective is that every person in the city can experience a modern, safe and quality life.
