Una, June 21: A special yoga session was organized at the conference hall of the District Sainik Welfare Office, Una, to mark International Yoga Day. Ex-servicemen and cadets from the Defence Academy, Una, participated enthusiastically in the event, practicing various yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama).
Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) S.K. Kalia, Deputy Director of the Sainik Welfare Department, Una, stated that yoga is an effective means of establishing a balance between the body, mind, and soul, extending beyond mere physical exercise. He remarked that regular yoga practice inspires individuals to lead a disciplined, healthy, and stress-free life, and urged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine.
He noted that in the life of a soldier, mental resilience and self-discipline are just as crucial as physical fitness, and yoga serves as a powerful tool for cultivating these qualities. He called upon ex-servicemen and the youth to adopt the practice of yoga regularly.
