Chandigarh, November 11 - Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Mr. Shyam Singh Rana directed the officials to complete the department's announcements made in the March-2025 budget within the stipulated time. Mr. Rana was chairing a meeting of the officials of the Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department here today.
On this occasion, Commissioner and Secretary of the department Mr. Vijay Singh Dahiya, Director General Dr. Prem Singh and other senior officials were present.
While giving instructions in the meeting, the Cabinet Minister said that the benefits of all schemes related to animal husbandry should be extended to every animal husbandry farmer. He reviewed the establishment of special centers to promote goat and sheep milk production in the state, making high breed of sheep available free of cost to BPL families and making the sheep and goat insurance scheme completely free from next year. Mr. Rana said that goat milk is rich in medicinal properties and its production will give new impetus to the rural economy.
He also reviewed the provision of interest-free loans of up to Rs. 1 lakh to women to set up dairy farms, provision of high genetic breeds like Beetle, Sirohi, Mujal to livestock farmers to encourage goat and sheep farming, establishment of sexed sorted semen labs to improve the breed and availability of medicines and materials in veterinary institutions.
The Minister also stressed on improving the facilities of cowsheds. Mr. Rana said that the state government's goal is to make every animal husbandry self-sufficient and animal husbandry the backbone of the rural economy of Haryana.
