Although the common people are struggling with this problem for a long time, but till now there has been no concrete solution to this problem and the condition of the drains is the same and there is no hope of solving this problem in the future as well. People informed the sewerage officials about this matter many times, demonstrated and even held dharnas, but the sewerage officials and the government did not pay any attention to it. There is a fear of spreading diseases due to sewerage water standing in the streets. Water mixed with sewerage is being supplied to the houses. People are facing problems in coming and going to their homes.
The business of shopkeepers has come to a standstill and customers are not coming to the streets due to the waterlogging, due to which shopkeepers are also facing financial loss. Due to the waterlogging of sewerage, it is not possible for small school children to walk or cycle. The situation is even worse near Dr. Rame Hospital Market and Dr. Yadavinder Hospital. The bad condition of the roads and open sewerage drains are waiting for a big accident.
The administration and the city council are not making any effort to improve the sewerage system, rather water is filling up in the houses. The concerned officials have also been avoiding this matter. Two-three months ago, the sewerage was cleaned by machines, but the same situation has arisen again and the sewerage is overflowing at many places. If no concrete solution is found to the sewerage problem, the situation is going to get even worse in the coming rainy season.
