Patiala- At the elderly care home run by Help Edge India in village Rogla, Shri Kaka Ram Verma, retired training supervisor of the Red Cross Society, provided training on self-defense and assistance to the victims in cases of heart attack, cardiac arrest, fainting, shock, sugar, low blood pressure, etc.
He said that sudden deaths are due to heart attack, cardiac arrest, lack of oxygen and glucose supply to the brain, electric shock, fainting, fracture of the head, ribs, spine, foreign body stuck in the throat and trapped in gases, smoke, water, and garbage. He conducted various practicals and provided training on first aid CPR, recovery position, ventilator, artificial respiration.
Managing Officer Lakhwinder Sarin, present doctors, nurses and other staff members expressed their gratitude and said that such practical trainings prove to be very useful in saving precious lives during emergencies. Kaka Ram Verma also respectfully presented a cheque of Rs. 5100/- from his old age pension to the senior citizen.
