Sangrur, 14 August 2026:- The Aam Aadmi Party got a major boost today when senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Veer Jagwinder Singh Dehlewal, along with his associates and family members, bid farewell to Shiromani Akali Dal and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj, while warmly welcoming Jagwinder Singh Dehlewal and his associates into the Aam Aadmi Party, said that the joining of hardworking, experienced and deeply connected with the people leaders like him with the party is a good sign for the Sangrur constituency and it will further strengthen the party's organization in the constituency.
MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that the politics of the Aam Aadmi Party is not limited only to elections, but its main objective is to understand the problems of the people, to make efforts for their solution and to work for the all-round development of Punjab. She said that the government of the Aam Aadmi Party is giving priority to matters related to the convenience of the common people of the state, education, health, employment, infrastructure and public welfare.
She said that during the past period, in Sangrur constituency also, keeping in mind the needs of the people, various development works have been given priority. Works related to roads, streets, drains, parks, street lights, drinking water, sewerage and other basic facilities are being continuously taken forward. She said that the aim of the government and the party is to ensure that the benefit of development reaches every section of society and every village and urban area of the constituency.
MLA Bharaj said that the biggest strength of the Aam Aadmi Party is its common workers and people. The party has always given opportunity to people working at the grassroots level to come forward. She said that when experienced leaders like Jagwinder Singh Dehlewal, who have close ties with people in their area, join the party, it gives new energy and strength to the organization.
She said that today is the time for development and pro-people politics. People are now looking at the works being done by political parties rather than their promises. She said that the Aam Aadmi Party is continuously working to give practical shape to the promises made to the people and for this reason leaders and workers associated with different parties are also joining the ideology of 'AAP'.
Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that the people of Sangrur constituency have always given full support to the Aam Aadmi Party and she is working with full honesty and commitment to live up to the expectations of the people of the constituency. She said that listening to the problems of the people and coordinating with the concerned departments for their solution is her first priority. She said that every leader and worker of the party will be taken along to work for the development of the constituency.
Congratulating the newly joined leaders and workers on becoming part of the party family, the MLA said that in the Aam Aadmi Party, every worker is given due respect according to his hard work and capability. She assured Jagwinder Singh Dehlewal that the party will give him full support at every level and his experience will be used for strengthening the party and for public service.
She said that the responsibility of the new associates joining the party also increases. They should remain in constant contact with the people, convey information about the public welfare schemes of the government to the people and bring the difficulties of the people to the notice of the party and the government. She said that a strong organization and direct contact with the people is the real strength of any political party.
On this occasion, senior leader Jagwinder Singh Dehlewal who joined the Aam Aadmi Party said that he along with his associates and family has joined the party being impressed by the policies of the Aam Aadmi Party and the pro-people works being done by the government. He said that he will work with full honesty and dedication for strengthening the party and will strongly raise the voice for the rights of the people and their problems.
He said that by joining the Aam Aadmi Party, with the cooperation of his associates, he will work to further strengthen the policies of the party at the grassroots level. He thanked MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj and the party leadership for the honour and respect given to him.
On this occasion, constituency organization in-charge Vikramjit Singh Nakte said that with Jagwinder Singh Dehlewal and his associates joining the party, the organization has got new strength. He said that along with the new associates, the activities of the party will be further intensified and contact with the people at the grassroots level will be further strengthened.
