Hansi:- Under the Congress's organization creation campaign, the process of selection of new District President has started in Hansi. All India Congress Committee (AICC) Observer and former Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Kumar Lallu reached Hansi on Friday and started taking opinions from party leaders and workers. He said that the new District President will not be a representative of any faction or particular leader, but will be a dedicated, struggling and grassroots worker of Congress.
Lallu said that for the post of District President, the applicant must be a Congress worker for at least five years. Eligible workers associated with Youth Congress, NSUI, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal and other frontal organizations can also stake claim. Former Block Presidents and senior workers will also get opportunity in the process.
He said that the party wants to give responsibility to a person whose image is transparent, who struggles for the basic issues of the public and is loyal to the organization. Factionalism or personal loyalty will not be given priority in the selection.

After opinion poll, a panel of six probable names will be sent to the high command. After consultation with Organization General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, final decision will be taken and after approval of National President, new District President's name will be stamped.
On BJP's questions regarding 'Vande Mataram', Lallu mentioned Congress's contribution in the freedom movement. He said that Congress even today sings the original verse used for public awakening during the freedom movement. On the question of indiscipline, he said that no person is bigger than the organization and action is taken against those who violate.
