Hoshiarpur: Jasveer Singh Garhi, Chairman of the Punjab SC Commission, paid obeisance at Dera Sant Mela Ram Sachkhand Nagar and met with the incumbent head, Sant Paramjit Das—who also serves as the Cashier of the Guru Ravidas Sadhu Sampraday Society, Punjab. The meeting focused on resolving religious and social issues, as well as addressing concerns regarding the roads surrounding the Dera, the severe damage caused by rainwater runoff, and other related problems.
Sant Paramjit Das explained that he serves as the chief caretaker (*Sevadar*) of the historic Dera Sant Mela Ram Nagar. The site hosts several major events annually and attracts hundreds of thousands of devotees seeking blessings. He highlighted the significant difficulties faced by the congregation due to inadequate water drainage on the surrounding roads and mentioned the need to bring this issue to the government's attention. During the visit, Jasveer Singh Garhi also held an extensive discussion on ensuring transparency in resolving religious and social issues concerning the community.
On this occasion, Sant Paramjit Das honored Jasveer Singh Garhi and other religious, social, and political figures by presenting them with a *Sirpao* (a robe of honor bestowed as a divine blessing from the *Gurughar*). A large number of devotees, along with the Dera's volunteers, were present at the event.
