Hoshiarpur- A special meeting of the Rotary Club was held under the chairmanship of the club president, Rotarian Avtar Singh. In which the preparations for the free eye check-up and operation camp in the coming time were discussed in detail. This camp will be held in village Chabbewal on November 7.
It was decided in the meeting that all the patients coming to the camp will be given free medicines, food and glasses so that no needy person has to face financial hardship.
Club president, Rotarian Avtar Singh said that this service camp is a symbol of the social responsibility of the Rotary Club, which aims to provide relief to the needy people from eye-related problems. He said that the special contribution of Rotarian Bill Jaspal, former president of Rotary Club Warwick England and Rotarian Gurnandan Singh, who are the main supporters of this project, will be in this new work.
During the meeting, Secretary Inderpal Singh Sachdeva gave detailed information about the preparations for the camp. He said that a team of qualified eye specialists, modern testing equipment and ample medicines are being arranged for the camp. Arrangements for food and rest will also be made for the convenience of the patients.
Club members Sanjeev Sharma, Binder Singh, JS Bhogal, Vikram Sharma, Parveen Pabbi, Rakesh Kapoor, Jatinder Kumar, Manoj Ohri, DP Kathuria, Rohit Chopra, Jagmeet Singh Sethi, Rajnish Guliani, Kuljit Singh Saini and Jatinder Duggal along with other members were present in the meeting. All the members assured to provide support at their respective levels to make the camp a success.
Rotary Club members said that this initiative will not only bring light in the lives of the needy, but will also further strengthen the spirit of service in the society. The club appealed to the citizens to take advantage of this free eye check-up camp in maximum number and also motivate their acquaintances about it.
The meeting concluded with the slogan of service and dedication. In which all the members resolved to make the upcoming camp a successful and historic initiative of the Rotary Club.
