Chandigarh, September 12:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that approval has been granted for the construction of ring roads and national highways outside cities and towns with a population of more than one lakh to ensure better transportation for the general public.
Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini was chairing a meeting at the Secretariat regarding the Adoption of Financial Model for State Contribution under the master plan for reducing congestion in urban areas caused by national highways. Minister of Public Works Department Shri Ranbir Gangwa, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Rastogi and several senior officers were present at the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that a policy in accordance with the Central Government should be prepared for the construction of outer ring roads and national highways under the master plan, so that the roads proposed to reduce traffic pressure in cities and towns can be implemented.
During the meeting, a three-member committee comprising officers of the Finance Department, Public Works Department and Urban Local Bodies Department was constituted for the Centre's cost-sharing component.
The Chief Minister approved the construction works of the Hisar Bypass, Kurukshetra Bypass, Narnaul City Bypass, Jind Bypass and Sohna-Palwal Bypass. The Hisar Bypass will connect Hisar-Rajgarh Road NH-52 with Hisar Delhi Road and Hisar Kaithal Road. Similarly, the DPR of the Kurukshetra-Ladwa Bypass has also been prepared. Work on this project will also be started soon.
The Chief Minister said that the Narnaul City Bypass will also be constructed. This bypass, approximately 11 kilometres long, will be connected with State Highway NH-148B. In addition, an outer ring road and bypass on the other side of Jind, along NH-352, will be constructed as a four-lane road. The Palwal-Sohna Bypass from NH-919 will also be reconstructed and redesigned. This four-lane road will be approximately 24 kilometres long. These projects will cost approximately Rs 9,700 crore.
The Chief Minister said that the DND-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh Bypass will also be developed to connect the KMP Link from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Greenfield Connectivity with Jewar International Airport. In addition, the land share for the Karnal Ring Road has also been deposited. The work on the ring road connecting Ambala city and Ambala Cantt is also under construction. It will be completed soon.
Besides, the meeting also approved the construction of a railway underbridge on Civil Station Road in Sirsa on the Rewari-Bathinda railway line and additional works on the link road from Kanina-Mahendragarh Road to Anawas, from Dhani Rajawas School to Balana, from Khatod to Budin, Nimbheda and Blaicha, Mahendragarh-Bucholi Road, and the road from Nangwas to Ateli.
Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Arun Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Shri A.K. Singh, Shri Anurag Aggarwal, Commissioner and Secretary Smt. Ashima Brar, Shri J. Ganeshan, along with senior officers of the Public Works Department, were also present at the meeting.
