Chandigarh, August 28:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that the people of Punjab have become fed up with the Aam Aadmi Party government and have made up their minds for change. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has worked to ruin Punjab and has even surpassed the previous Congress government in terms of corruption. Therefore, the people of Punjab have now resolved to form a BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and make Punjab a strong, developed and well-governed state. He said that while protecting the faith, culture and honour of the sacred land of Punjab, everyone will have to come together to take the state forward on the path of development and good governance.
The Chief Minister was addressing a Mahasammelan organized at Baba Bakala Sahib in Amritsar on Friday. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan also addressed the Mahasammelan on the occasion. A large number of BJP workers and common people participated in the Mahasammelan.
The Chief Minister began his address by paying obeisance to the sacred land of Amritsar and Baba Bakala Sahib. He said that this is the sacred land of the Gurus, where history was not merely written but created. This is the sacred land of Baba Bakala Sahib, where the true Guru was identified among numerous claimants. Here, Bhai Makhan Shah Lubana recognized the truth and raised the slogan, “Guru Ladho Re.” Standing on this sacred land, he paid his heartfelt respects at the feet of ‘Hind Ki Chadar’, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.
The Chief Minister said that in the year 1664, the eighth Guru, Sri Guru Har Krishan Sahib Ji, had indicated his successor by saying “Baba Bakale.” This incident conveyed the message to society that true leadership is identified by character and that truth may remain hidden for some time, but ultimately emerges as light.
Extending greetings on the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan, the Chief Minister said that coming among the people on this historic and revolutionary land made him feel as if he had not come to a political event but among his own family. He said that this sense of belonging should not remain limited to meeting one another, but should be transformed into a commitment towards Punjab. The present time is asking us who can provide Punjab with true politics, true promises and a true government. He said that we have come here not merely to attend a programme, but to take a pledge of our responsibility towards Punjab.
Protecting Punjab’s Faith, Farmers’ Hard Work, Future of Youth and Honour of Women is Our Resolve – Chief Minister
The Chief Minister said that protecting Punjab’s faith, protecting the hard work of farmers, protecting the future of youth, protecting the honour of women and ensuring the security of Majha, situated along the country’s border, is the BJP’s resolve today. He said that protecting and securing mothers and sisters is not only the responsibility of the government but also the responsibility of every individual in society.
He said that the land of Majha is a land of bravery, valour, sacrifice and farmers’ strength. The people here have always played an important role in protecting the country and nation-building. Punjab is not merely a state, but an important centre of the country’s faith, culture and pride. He said, “We have come to protect Punjab’s faith and will work together to further promote the honour of Punjab.”
The Chief Minister said that the people of Punjab and Haryana share centuries-old brotherhood. The culture, traditions and sentiments of both states are deeply connected with each other. He appealed to everyone to move forward together and take Punjab on the path of development, good governance and prosperity.
AAP Government Has Turned Its Back on Promises Made to the People of Punjab – Chief Minister
Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, saying that during nearly four and a half years, the AAP government has turned its back on the promises made to the people and pushed Punjab into the quagmire of corruption. He said that the policy and intention of the Aam Aadmi Party government are not right. Today, corruption prevails in Punjab, rates have been fixed for every work, and no work gets done without money.
He said that the people of Punjab had handed over power to the Aam Aadmi Party with hope and faith, but the government failed to live up to that trust. The people have now understood the functioning of the government very well. He said that the people of Punjab feel that in terms of corruption, the present government has gone even further than the previous Congress government.
The Chief Minister said that the responsibility of a government is to establish a proper system, strengthen law and order and provide facilities to ordinary citizens, rather than harassing the people.
He said that the numerous promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party to the people of Punjab and how many of them have been fulfilled are before the people of Punjab. He said this clearly shows that the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party are “two sides of the same coin.”
Chief Minister Also Targets AAP Government Over Excise Inspector Recruitment
The Chief Minister alleged that in the recent recruitment of Excise Inspectors, only favourites were given jobs, while children from poor families were kept away from employment opportunities. He said that the youth of Punjab are suffering from unemployment and had placed great expectations on the Aam Aadmi Party government for employment. He questioned the Punjab government as to how many youths had been provided employment so far since coming to power.
Describing the achievements of the Haryana government, he said that youths in the state are being given government jobs transparently, “without expense, without recommendation” and without any discrimination, purely on the basis of merit. More than 2 lakh government jobs have been provided in Haryana so far.
He said that the responsibility of a government is to implement public-oriented and welfare schemes and bring improvement in the standard of living of the people. The Haryana government has worked to bring widespread changes in the economic and social lives of people through various welfare schemes.
Successful Public Welfare Model of Haryana Will Also Be Implemented in Punjab – Chief Minister
The Chief Minister said that if a BJP government is formed in Punjab in the coming period, the successful public welfare models of Haryana will also be implemented in Punjab so that the safe and comprehensive development of the state can be ensured.
He said that the BJP government in Haryana has successfully fulfilled 70 out of 217 commitments in its Sankalp Patra within just 18 months of its tenure, while work on the remaining commitments is being carried out rapidly.
The Chief Minister said that women from families with an annual income of less than Rs. 1.80 lakh are being provided gas cylinders for only Rs. 500, and under this scheme, more than Rs. 300 crore has so far been directly transferred into the accounts of beneficiaries.
Women Receiving Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,100 Under Lado Lakshmi Scheme
The Chief Minister said that to economically empower women, the Haryana government had made a provision of Rs. 5,000 crore in the budget to ensure financial assistance of Rs. 2,100 under the Lado Lakshmi Scheme. Out of this, more than Rs. 2,000 crore has so far been transferred into the accounts of women.
Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party over promises made to women in Punjab, he said that the party had made several major promises, including financial assistance to women, but even today women are waiting for those promises to be fulfilled. He said that BJP governments work to fulfil what they promise and the common citizen remains at the centre of the government’s policies and schemes.
Haryana Purchasing Farmers’ Entire Crop at MSP – Chief Minister
The Chief Minister said that Haryana is the first state in the country where the entire crop of farmers is purchased at MSP and payment is ensured in farmers’ accounts within 48 hours. More than Rs. 1,600 crore has been transferred into farmers’ accounts as compensation for crop damage. Besides this, vegetable-producing farmers are being compensated for losses under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana.
More Than 2 Lakh Patients Benefit From Free Dialysis
The Chief Minister said that free dialysis facilities have been made available for kidney patients across Haryana and more than 2 lakh patients have benefited from the facility without any personal expenditure.
He said that Ayushman and Chirayu cards have been prepared for 42 lakh families in the state and the government has so far spent Rs. 4,500 crore under the scheme.
The Chief Minister said that the government has also taken significant steps towards providing housing to homeless people. More than 1.60 lakh houses have been constructed in the state and their keys have been handed over to beneficiaries. Along with this, landless families have been provided plots measuring 100 square yards in villages and 30 square yards in cities and have been linked with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana so that permanent houses can be constructed for them.
Appeal to Give Punjab a New Direction of Development and Good Governance
The Chief Minister said that Punjab has immense potential. Punjab is the land of hardworking farmers, brave soldiers, talented youth and women power. There is a need for a government that gives priority to development, good governance, transparency and public welfare.
He said that the people of Punjab now have to decide whether the state needs the politics of promises or the politics of development and good governance. He said that the people of Punjab have become fed up with the Aam Aadmi Party government and have made up their minds for change. The coming time belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party and a BJP government is going to be formed in Punjab under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Former Minister Shri Manpreet Singh Badal and Punjab BJP President Shri Kewal Singh Dhillon also addressed the Mahasammelan. On the occasion, BJP National General Secretary Shri Tarun Chugh, MLA Shri Ashwani Sharma, BJP leader Shri Sunil Jakhar, Shri Manjit Singh, Shri Kanwar Veer Singh, Shri Jeevan Garg and a large number of dignitaries were present.
