Hoshiarpur:- MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has always given top priority to the interests of sanitation workers.
Addressing a press conference here today, MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has taken historic decisions during its tenure and regularized 7,000 sanitation workers across the state, while the monthly salary of sanitation workers working on contract basis has been increased from Rs 10,500 to Rs 20,500. He said that the government is continuously taking concrete steps for the respect and economic security of the workers.
MLA Jimpa said that the government is also seriously considering other pending demands of sanitation workers and they will be resolved in a phased manner. He said that after the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in the year 2022, many pro-people schemes have been implemented in Punjab keeping public welfare at the center. These include 600 units of free electricity to every family, resuming government recruitments that had been stalled for years, providing quality health services to people near their homes through Aam Aadmi Clinics, extensive development of roads, closure of more than 19 toll plazas, Mother-Daughter Respect Scheme, Chief Minister Health Scheme and providing government jobs to more than 65 thousand youth. On this occasion, Bram Shankar Jimpa appealed to the sanitation workers unions and asked them to cooperate with the government's efforts for public welfare. Aam Aadmi Party District President Jaspal Singh Chechi said that sanitation workers are the backbone of the society and there is no alternative to their contribution. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is working with full commitment for the rights, respect and welfare of the sanitation workers and in future also their legitimate demands will be fulfilled on priority basis. Councilor Surinder Kumar was also present on this occasion.
