Hoshiarpur:- Under the ‘Mera Ghar-Mere Naam’ scheme launched by the Punjab government to give ownership rights to the residents living inside the red line in the villages, MLA from Chabbewal constituency Dr. Ishank Kumar handed over the house ownership cards to 97 families in the nearby village of Gogdon and said that this historic initiative of the state government has benefited the people immensely.
Handing over the cards to give ownership rights to the families, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has provided legal recognition to the owners of their houses to the residents of the red line, with which they can use their property for various kinds of progress in life.
He said that the ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ scheme not only provides ownership to the people but also strengthens their self-confidence and morale. He said that now these families can buy and sell their properties and the path of registration of these properties has been completely smooth. He said that the people living inside the red line had to face various problems for a long time regarding the ownership of their houses etc., which the Punjab government has solved definitively and fulfilled the long-standing demand of these residents.
Talking to the villagers in the presence of the concerned officials, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar said that the process of making property cards for ownership is being done in a completely transparent and planned manner under which the Revenue Department first makes a map of all the houses in the village through drone survey and later a preliminary map (Map-1) is made and the current situation is ascertained with a team of Patwaris, Sarpanches, Numbardars and other village dignitaries.
He said that on the basis of land verification, the Survey of India prepares the final map (Map-2), in which the houses are numbered, after which the map is made public in the village by recording the details of the owners. He said that if no objection is found on the map, then the ownership rights are issued.
