Chandigarh- In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, approval has been given to grant the status of Municipal Corporation to Barnala Municipal Council. Along with this, necessary approval has also been given to create Ludhiana North New Sub Tehsil in Ludhiana district.
Apart from this, in other decisions taken by the Punjab Cabinet, the Punjab Unified Building Rules 2025 have been given green signal. According to this rule, there will be no need to take permission from the department to increase the height of the building from 15 meters to 21 meters in the newly constructed colonies in Punjab. For this, only the architect's certificate will be sufficient.
The Punjab Cabinet has approved filling up about 100 new posts in the Punjab Sports Medicine Cadre. These posts will be filled on contract for a period of three years. In this, 14 posts of Group A, 16 posts of Group B and about 80 posts of Group C will be filled.
The cabinet has approved the opening of a 100-bed ESI hospital at Derabassi. This hospital will be opened by the central government and the Punjab government has also given its approval to the proposal to provide four acres of land. The cabinet has also approved the filling of more than 100 posts of medical quota in the sports department
Biometric attendance will be introduced in de-addiction centers
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also said that biometric attendance will now be introduced in de-addiction centers and the government has also taken the arrangements for providing medicines and HO certificates into its own hands. This step has been taken after complaints from the centers.
