Chandigarh, August 24:- Haryana's Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya Minister Shri Krishan Kumar Bedi has said that the state government is committed to protecting the interests of farmers. So that farmers get the benefits of government schemes and facilities on time, officials should work with sensitivity and priority. He said that resolving the complaints of the common people in a timely manner is the government's priority.
Shri Krishan Kumar Bedi was presiding over the meeting of the District Public Relations and Public Grievances Committee in Fatehabad district on Monday. A total of 13 complaints were placed in the meeting, out of which 9 were resolved on the spot, while in 4 cases, the concerned officials were directed to take necessary action and submit a detailed report in the next meeting.
Farmers of Doar complained that they had to bear financial loss due to wrong objections being raised in the insurance claim of soft crops. In this case, the report of the committee formed under the chairmanship of ADC was presented in the meeting.
In another case, the District Revenue Officer said that a claim of Rs 116.89 crore had been approved for the farmers, out of which Rs 68 crore had been paid. In some cases, the payment was pending due to data mismatch. The insurance company has released a payment of Rs 48 crore to farmers of 33 villages on July 23. An amount of about Rs 30 lakh is pending in some cases due to mismatch and death of the farmers concerned, which will be resolved and paid as per the rules.
Mr. Krishan Kumar Bedi said that it should be ensured that the farmers get the benefits of all the welfare schemes of the government including the crop insurance scheme and the pending cases should be resolved as per the rules at the earliest.
In another case, villagers complained about the quality of work on the pipeline laid for water drainage. Officials said that action has been taken against the contractor concerned on finding any deficiency in the work and payment has also been stopped. The pending work will be taken forward after the appointment of the officer. The Cabinet Minister directed that the pipeline work should be completed as soon as possible with high quality as per the prescribed standards by completing the necessary action.
