Patiala, 4 September- In elections of Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Punjab Chapter Architect Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia has been declared winner for post of Chairman by obtaining 61 percent votes.
Along with Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia in new team of Punjab Chapter R. S. Sandhu remained winner for post of Treasurer. Apart from this Rajan Tangri from Ludhiana and Sanjay Kumar from Jalandhar were elected for post of Joint Secretary.
Dinesh Bhagat from Jalandhar was elected Vice Chairman. 10 Executive Members also remained winners for Punjab Chapter. These include Ravinder Singh, Pooja Varmani, Sanchi Goyal, Prabhpreet Singh and Simranjit Singh from Ludhiana, Rajinder Kaur and Amanjit Kaur from Mohali and Rakesh Arora, Manisha Jindal and Mohan Singh from Patiala.
Sangeeta Rani remained winner for post of Vice Chairperson of IIA Patiala Chapter. Sanjeev K. Goel was elected Honorary Treasurer of IIA Patiala Chapter. Rani Madhu, Harpreet Singh and Bhavika Goel remained winners for post of Executive Member of IIA Patiala Chapter. Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia is practicing Architect of Punjab and he is running offices under name Walia Creative Architects at Mohali and Patiala. He is actively contributing in field of architecture and also serving as Director of Ludhiana Smart City. Indian Institute of Architects is national level institution representing architects across India. Its members are present in different parts of country and its chapters and centres are functional in different states.
IIA Punjab Chapter has strong presence across state and under it various centres are in Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Mohali, Bathinda, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur including other cities.
Elections of Punjab Chapter and its various centres were conducted online and simultaneously, which gave opportunity to members across Punjab to participate in this democratic process. On this occasion Ar. Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia expressed thanks to members associated with IIA for trust shown on him and cooperation given. He said that new leadership will work to further strengthen profession of architecture, to encourage unity among architects, to increase opportunities and to ensure greater participation of IIA members across Punjab. He further said that main focus of Punjab Chapter will remain on professional development, unity, sharing of knowledge, better coordination between various centres of IIA and creative cooperation with government including other concerned parties, so that effective work can be done for betterment of profession of architecture and built environment in Punjab.
