Chandigarh, July 6:- Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Mr. Manohar Lal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream is that every poor family should get a permanent house. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 is an important step towards realizing this concept. The goal of the Union Government under the leadership of the Prime Minister is to provide decent housing to every eligible family.
Building one's own house is the dream of every person's life. A house is not just a boundary wall, but the basis of respect, security and a better future for every family. He said that the government is working with full commitment to extend the benefits of the schemes to the person standing in the last row.
Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Mr. Manohar Lal was speaking while leading the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 program organized in Karnal on Monday. On this occasion, he distributed acceptance letters to 31 beneficiaries.

**Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban 2.0 will provide housing to eligible families- Manohar Lal
Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal said that Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 was implemented on 1 September 2024. The scheme will provide permanent housing to economically weaker and eligible families. He said that the Central and State Governments are jointly running many public welfare schemes to improve the living standards of poor families. He said that the priority of the government is that eligible persons should get the benefit of the scheme without any discrimination. Therefore, the entire process has been made transparent and online. He appealed to the beneficiaries to complete the construction work within the stipulated time frame and properly utilize the assistance provided by the government.

**Benefits of schemes are reaching eligible people through transparent system
The Union Minister said that the Central and Haryana Governments are continuously working for the welfare of poor and needy families. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 will prove to be a boon for such families, whose dream of building their own house remained unfulfilled for years. He said that the government has made the process of selecting beneficiaries completely transparent, due to which the benefits of the schemes are reaching the real eligible persons. He wished the beneficiaries well and urged them to complete the construction of houses in a time-bound manner.

**Approval letters distributed to 31 beneficiaries
In the program, the Union Minister formally distributed approval letters to 31 beneficiaries. He said that in the first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0, the applications of a total of 2,174 beneficiaries from Haryana have been approved. These include 509 beneficiaries from the urban area of ??Karnal district, while 80 eligible beneficiaries from the Municipal Corporation Karnal area have been approved.
