Kurukshetra:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released a special coin and commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He said that Guru Tegh Bahadur considered the protection of truth, justice, faith as his religion and sacrificed his life for it. Mr. Modi today reached Kurukshetra in Haryana where he participated in a special function to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini was also present on this occasion. The Prime Minister said that this morning he was in Ayodhya, the city of Ramayana, and now he is in Kurukshetra, the city of Gita. He remembered the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and inspired people to follow his teachings.
He said, ‘We want peace but we do not compromise with our security, ‘Operation Sindhur’ is the biggest example of this.’ He said that the land of Kurukshetra has been the center of religion. His government respects every religion. Talking about the recent attack on Pakistan, he said that the whole world has seen that the present India is neither afraid of terrorism nor bows down to it. He reiterated the pledge to take every action against terrorism.
Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who sacrificed himself to protect religion, did not leave the path of truth: Modi.
Prime Minister Modi said in his address that the tyrant Aurangzeb had ordered the imprisonment of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, but Guru Sahib himself announced to come to Delhi. The Mughal rulers gave him greed and threats, but Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji remained firm on his faith and principles.
He did not compromise. Later, to break the spirit of Guru Sahib and lead him astray, his three beloved companions, Bhai Dayala Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Mati Das Ji, were brutally martyred in front of him. Bhai Mati Das Ji was sawn off, Bhai Dayala Ji was thrown into a cauldron of boiling oil and Bhai Sati Das Ji was wrapped in cotton and set on fire.
All this happened in front of Guru Sahib. But Guru Sahib remained steadfast. His resolve remained firm. He did not leave the path of religion. Finally, in a state of penance, Guru Sahib laid down his head to protect religion.
