Chandigarh, July 30:- In an important initiative to keep the youth away from drug addiction and connect them with the mainstream of nation building, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch the 'Drug-Free Youth for Developed India - Sankalp Campaign' at the national level on August 2, 2026. On this occasion, lakhs of youth of Haryana will join this campaign virtually and take the pledge to create a drug-free society and give it the form of a state-wide mass movement.
The state-level main program of this campaign in Haryana will be organized at the holy land Kurukshetra, in which the Governor of Haryana Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh will be present as the chief guest. A large number of youth, students, representatives of educational institutions, voluntary organizations and various social organizations from across the state will participate on this occasion.
It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will address more than one crore youth by connecting virtually with programs organized at about 10,000 locations across the country.

**Maximum participation of youth will be under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini
To make this campaign successful, the special guidance and support of Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini will be available. The state government will make great efforts to ensure maximum participation of the youth of the state during the entire period of the campaign. Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the youth of the state will play their active participation in the decisive fight against drugs with enthusiasm and determination.
Also, Education Minister Shri Mahipal Dhanda will also have important support in making the campaign successful. At the same time, the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department under the leadership of Minister of State Shri Gaurav Gautam will act as the nodal agency for this campaign. The department will ensure all necessary arrangements at the state level, coordination among various departments and effective implementation throughout the campaign, so that the campaign can successfully achieve its set goals.

**Youth will give the message of drug-free life every Sunday in Haryana
This campaign in Haryana will be run continuously every Sunday for the next 100 weeks. Under the campaign, various public awareness and creative activities will be organized under the leadership of the youth. The aim of these activities is to promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth, strengthen community involvement and positively motivate their energy towards nation building.
Necessary instructions have been issued to all the universities of the state to ensure the broadcast and mass listening of the Prime Minister's address to maximum youth. Programs will also be organized in all government and private colleges affiliated to the universities with maximum participation of students. Apart from this, with the active participation of schools, colleges, youth clubs, voluntary organizations and other social organizations of the state, this campaign will be taken to every village and city so that an atmosphere of widespread public awareness against drugs can be created in Haryana. Drug-free youth are the biggest strength of a developed Haryana and a developed India. Healthy, aware and committed youth are the foundation of a strong society and a self-reliant nation. Therefore, every youth should have this resolve that he himself will stay away from drugs, will also make others aware of its ill effects and will play an active role in the creation of a drug-free Haryana.
