New Delhi- President Draupadi Murmu has left for a six-day official visit to the African countries of Angola and Botswana. The aim of this visit is to enhance India's partnership with these two countries and open new avenues of cooperation. This is the first official visit of any Indian Head of State to these two countries.
President Murmu will arrive in the Angolan capital Luanda. He will hold talks with his Angolan counterpart Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco.
He will also participate in the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Angola's independence and address the parliament there. This year, India and Angola are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
He will meet his counterpart Duma Gideon Boko in the Botswana capital, Gaborone. He will also address the National Assembly there. The visit will further strengthen the ties between India and these countries in many areas including agriculture, health, energy, trade, investment, technology, infrastructure development and defence.
