Nawanshahr:- On the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a grand 26th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organized by all the employees of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Nawanshahr. The camp was held at the Blood Center, Rahon Road, Nawanshahr, in collaboration with the Blood Donation Council (BDC) Nawanshahr. The blood donation camp was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Engineer Gurmail Singh Moranwali, S.D.O. (Sub-Divisional Officer), Powercom Rural Nawanshahr. He extended his greetings on Baba Saheb's birth anniversary and stated that organizing such blood donation camps is a commendable way to remember Dr. Ambedkar and to spread his memories and ideology to every household.
While explaining the importance of blood donation, he remarked that "Blood donation is the greatest donation" (Mahadan). Blood donated by a donor helps save the life of a person in need, and any healthy individual between the ages of 18 and 65 can donate blood. The organizers of the camp—Mr. Mohan Singh Boota Utala, Mr. Surinder Pal Rurki Muglan, and Mr. Khushal Singh Mall—thanked the donors and honored them with gifts.
Present on this occasion were Mr. Shadi Ram Saloh, Som Nath (Deputy Secretary), Kehar Singh Barwa, and Engineer Som Nath J.E. (Junior Engineer). During the camp, blood was donated by Mrs. Kamlesh Rani Punnu Mazara (for the 5th time), Engineer Jagdish Kumar Jadla, Kulwarn Singh, Kulwant Rai, Bakhshish Bachhouri, Sandeep Sehwajpur, Satnam Singh R.A. (Revenue Accountant), Gurinder Singh, Tarsem Singh Utal, Lal Chand Utal, Gurdeep Bali, Jaskaran Kang, Dr. Paramjit Singh Saloh, Sukhdev Singh Mirpur, Paramjit Mirpur, Jaskaran Bachhouri, Ishaan Makkar, Sandeep Kumar Bora, Pawan Kumar Jadli, Davinder Singh Jadla, Harjinder Singh (Income Tax Inspector, Jalandhar), and Navdeep Singh Navi Sadhowal.
Additionally, from the BDC (Blood Donation Council), Mr. S.K. Sarin (President), Mr. J.S. Gidda (Secretary), Mr. Parvesh Kumar (Finance Secretary), Mr. Noble Sarin (Advisor), Dr. Ajay Bagga (B.T.O. - Blood Transfusion Officer), Dr. Nikita Puri (B.T.O.), Mr. Manmeet Singh (Manager), Mr. Malkit Singh, Mr. Rajeev Kumar, and Mr. Mukesh Kumar were present. In this camp, 60 donors donated blood voluntarily. The camp organizers honored the donors by presenting them with special gifts.
