Haroli/Una, April 21 (Rajveer Chopra):— The 'Poshan Pakhwada' (Nutrition Fortnight) was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the workers of the Tahliwal Anganwadi Circle. On this occasion, women from across the circle participated actively.
During the program, women were sensitized regarding the importance of balanced and proper nutrition for children. The workers explained that once an infant completes six months of age, it becomes absolutely essential to provide them with complementary foods in addition to breastfeeding.
They explained in detail that children should be given nutritious, thick-consistency, and freshly prepared home-cooked meals. Including lentils, rice, green vegetables, ghee, oil, and fruits in their diet facilitates better physical and mental development in children.
The primary objective of the program was to prevent the problem of malnutrition among children by raising awareness among mothers, thereby taking a step forward towards building a healthy society.
Present on this occasion were Anganwadi workers Asha Devi, Mamta Devi, Seema Devi, Sarinder Kaur, Rakesh Kumari, Balwinder Kaur, and Usha Devi, along with other women.
